Adelina Sotnikova
Olympic champion 2014 in women’s figure skating Russian figure skater Adelina Sotnikova will miss the entire season-2017/18 because of an injury. This was announced by the coach athlete Yevgeny Plushenko, his words leads Sunday, August 27, “R-Sport”.
“Adeline, this season will not appear on the competition due to injury. We were all hoping that will heal this injury, but unfortunately, it did not happen”, — said Plushenko. According to him, the damage is still worried about the skater, so the full workout is not for her.
Sotnikova started to work under the guidance of Plushenko at the beginning of April this year. Her previous coach was Elena Buyanova, with her athlete trained throughout his career.
In 2014 Sotnikova won the gold medal of the Olympic games in women’s figure skating. In addition, she has two silver medals at the European Championships (2013, 2014).
