Sergey Kislyak
Former Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak gave an interview to CNN in which he criticized the channel for allegations of recruitment of the Russian diplomatic corps on the people of the us President Donald trump, and predicted difficult times in relations between Moscow and Washington.
During the conversation the journalist of CNN asked Kislyak on allegations of spying and recruiting personalities from the team of trump. The diplomat pointed out that such allegations are baseless. “You should be ashamed, because CNN is a company that continues to point to these accusations. This is nonsense,” — said Kislyak.
Also a former Russian Ambassador in Washington, said that relations between countries are difficult because of anti-Russian sanctions adopted by the United States. “And it will not happen through our fault, but because of the dynamics of American politics,” said Kislyak. He added that because of the sanctions, opportunities for normalization of relations between Moscow and Washington. “Sanctions are a tool that demonstrates the anti-Russian attitude of the USA,” said Kislyak.
Sergey Kislyak held the post of Russian Ambassador to USA from 2008 to 2017. He has completed his mission in Washington on 22 July, and 21 August was formally relieved of his duties and removed from office by the permanent observer of Russian Federation to the Organization of American States in Washington. On the same day, Russian Ambassador to USA was appointed Anatoly Antonov.
