“Moscow is far away from the geographical center of Russia, and its development leads to hypertrophy of the Moscow agglomeration”, — said Orlov. In his opinion, these two arguments are sufficient to seriously think about transferring the capital of the Urals, the Volga region and Western Siberia.
The most adequate option, the representative of “United Russia” calls Yekaterinburg, offering to delegate a part of capital functions to other cities.
“However, the probability of such a scenario I would rate as low,” adds eagles.
Earlier the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin criticized the idea of moving the capital of the Urals, proposed by the Institute of demography, migration and regional development (IDMR). “To spend a trillion or so officials refers to the 8 thousand km of 110 million Russians living in the European part.
