The militants banned organization “Islamic state” has claimed responsibility for the attack in Barcelona. According to recent reports, it claimed the lives of 13 people, another 80 were injured.

Grouping “Islamic state” has claimed responsibility for the attack in Barcelona, according to SITE Intel Group, which monitors Islamist activity in the Network, with reference to the Amaq Agency — the official news resource of the IG.

The attack occurred on the evening of 17 August, at 17:05 local time (18:05 GMT) on La Rambla in Central Barcelona. The white van was moving on the roadway, and then turned onto the pedestrian part of the Boulevard and drove 600 m. After that the vehicle driver left the car and fled. The result of the incident, according to the Catalan authorities, 13 people were killed, at least another 80 people were injured.
