Ankara does not support sanctions of the EU and the USA against Russia, as they damage the Turkish economy. About it in interview to Agency IHA said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu.
“Turkey itself has suffered a lot from sanctions in the past. Sanctions against our neighbours and partners (Russia) caused severe damage to our economy. That’s why when we hear about sanctions, we do not approve of it. We are looking for other ways of solving problems”, — quotes RIA Novosti words Cavusoglu.
He noted that in this regard, Turkey did not join the sanctions against Russia and in favour of “political interaction”.
“Russia and the US impose sanctions against each other, and the EU is preparing measures against the U.S., as U.S. sanctions have a negative impact on the EU. We try to resolve all issues through dialogue, so as not to drown in those whirlpools,” — said the Turkish Minister.
