Poland welcomes the signing by the President of the United States Donald trump bill to impose new sanctions against Russia and considers that such a decision meets the strategic interests of Warsaw and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. A statement published on the website of the Polish Ministry of foreign Affairs Wednesday, 2 August.
“Since Russia’s annexation of Crimea and aggression against Ukraine restrictions (against Russia) was introduced by decrees of the President (USA). The fact that now the sanctions were issued in the form of a bill, which was supported by an overwhelming majority of Congress, gives hope that they will be more effective”, — noted in Department.
Earlier Wednesday, Donald trump signed a law on new anti-Russian sanctions, which the us Senate adopted on 27 July.
A new package of anti-Russian sanctions, in particular, prohibits American companies and individuals to lend to Russian banks for more than 14 days (previously the deadline was 90 days). In addition, the document is limited to the term of financing of Russian oil and gas companies.
