The President of the Council under RF President on development of civil society and human rights (HRC) Mikhail Fedotov has welcomed the decision of the competition Commission, to distribute presidential grants among non-profit organizations, and drew attention to the fact that financing for new projects had received some human rights NGOs.
“The Council welcomed the decision of the Commission distributing presidential grants” — said Fedotov TASS, noting that this is the first experience of awarding grants in the new format.
It is encouraging that significantly improved administration, simplified application form and reporting have increased the transparency of procedures. “The Council with great satisfaction that a number of human rights organizations received grants for their projects”, — continued the head of the HRC. He, in particular, singled out the Moscow Helsinki group, which received a grant for the project “human rights agenda for contemporary Russia”, as well as projects Mordovian Republican human rights center, Fund “for convicts ‘ rights protection”, the Independent psychiatric Association of Russia, Center of assistance to criminal justice reform, the Council of public monitoring commissions and others.
