Primorye authorities introduced mandatory vaccination for citizens aged 60 and over 
Mandatory coronavirus vaccination for the elderly has been introduced in Primorye. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the regional government.
According to the decree signed by the chief sanitary doctor of the region, Tatyana Detkovskaya, citizens aged 60 and over will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. They need to deliver the first component of the vaccine by December 25, and the second by January 25. Otherwise, they may be suspended from work or transferred to a remote format.
Detkovskaya also noted that it is among this population group that the highest rates of morbidity and mortality from coronavirus are recorded. So, according to her, in the region, 23.5 percent of all cases are citizens aged 60 years and older. At the same time, 74 percent of all deaths also occur in this age category, and vaccination coverage reaches only 28.5 percent, said the chief sanitary doctor of the region.
Earlier, the Sverdlovsk region also introduced mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 for citizens over 60 years old. The regional department of Rospotrebnadzor clarified that the first component of the elderly residents of the region should be vaccinated by December 27, 2021, and the second component – by January 27, 2022. The decree does not apply to persons with a medical withdrawal from vaccinations, as well as those who have had coronavirus in the past six months.
