Russians revealed a way to reduce mortgage payments

Real estate specialist Radchenko advised Russians to refinance mortgages

Russians who took out a mortgage three to four years ago at 12-13 percent per annum , can refinance it – now the rate is about 9 percent. The nuances of this method of reducing payments were revealed by real estate expert Irina Radchenko in an interview with the Narodnye Novosti portal.

According to Radchenko, it makes sense to refinance a mortgage if its rate is higher than 10 percent per annum. In this case, you first need to apply to your own bank with a corresponding application, and if he does not agree to change the conditions, you can collect a package of documents and try to refinance in other banks.

Banks willingly refinance mortgages issued by competitors, if the client is good – did not allow delays, saves income, the specialist said. She also advised Russians not to postpone mortgages. “If you urgently need to improve your living conditions, do it now. Yes, the mortgage is now 9 percent, but then, when it bounces to 6 percent, you just go and refinance, ”concluded Radchenko.

Earlier, the chairman of the board of Absolut Bank Tatyana Ushkova said that mortgage rates in Russia will grow in 2022. As the expert noted, the fight against inflation “is not going very positively yet”. All banks have already laid down operating plans, and they do not have rates at the level of 7.5 percent, that is, at the level of today's key rate of the Central Bank, Ushkova said.
