The FSB detained the head of the Mordovian penal colony-17 on suspicion of accepting a bribe from a prisoner the head of correctional colony No. 17 (IK-17), located in the Republic of Mordovia, Vladimir Denisov. This was reported to Lenta.ru by a law enforcement source.

According to the investigation, the head of the colony demanded from the convict buy a modern smart TV and an expensive mobile phone for his office. In the period from October 28 to November 16, the prisoner purchased equipment at his own expense and handed it over to the suspect. The bribe amounted to 66 thousand rubles.

The issue of the arrest of Denisov is being resolved.
