On November 15, it was reported about a possible fight between Chimaev and the Brazilian Gilbert Burns. The UFC has not officially confirmed this information.
Chimaev expressed his readiness to replace Jorge Masvidal at UFC 269, which is scheduled for December 11 in Las Vegas. The American was supposed to fight Leon Edwards. The latter could also meet in the octagon with Chimaev in the fall of 2020.
