USA demanded from Russia to close three diplomatic facility on American soil
WASHINGTON, August 31. /TASS/. The US demanded from Russian government to close three diplomatic facility on American soil, justifying this by the alleged desire to restore the diplomatic balance. This is stated in the report released on Thursday a written statement of head a press-services of the Department of state Heather Nauert.
“The United States has fully complied with the orders of the government of the Russian Federation to reduce the size of our mission in Russia. We believe that these actions were unreasonable and detrimental to relations between our States”, — stated in the statement.
It says that Washington demands “of the Russian government to close its Consulate General in San Francisco,” one of the departments of the Embassy in Washington, and also one of the departments of the Consulate in new York. “To stop them [objects] are required by 2 September”, — the statement stresses.
“As a result of the above actions in both countries will remain at the three consulates. While there are still disparities in the number of diplomatic and consular offices, we decided to allow the government to save some branches to suspend the tightening of the spiral in our relations”, — said the foreign Ministry of the USA.
