U.S. Ambassador to Russia called themselves “Mr. Ravioli”

U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Tefft, summing up the work in this post, likened himself to “Mr. Ravioli”. The diplomat said in an interview with TASS, published on Wednesday, August 23.

Tefft explained that wherever he is in Russia went, the locals advise him where in their region it is possible to try this dish. “I think I became “Mr. Ravioli””, — he said. The diplomat added that Washington recently opened a new restaurant with Russian and Georgian cuisine, and on his return to USA he is going to go there.

According to the Ambassador, it all started with how, during one of the first conversations with the Russians in social networks, he mentioned that he loves this dish. So, in early may of 2015, he wrote in Facebook: “I just had lunch, but unfortunately, the menu was not my favorite Russian dumplings with sour cream”.

18 may 2016 Russia was visited by the assistant Secretary of state for Europe and Eurasia Victoria Nuland. During his stay in Moscow, she entered the restaurant “Varenichnaya №1”, where, along with Tefft had lunch of dumplings.
