Near the US Embassy in Moscow lined up for visas

Wishing to obtain a U.S. visa lined up at the U.S. Embassy on Novinsky Boulevard in Moscow, RIA Novosti reported.

Tuesday, August 22, is the last day before more than a week’s break in the issuance of visas.

Monday, August 21, the United States suspended the issuance of nonimmigrant visas in the Russian Federation in the period from 23 August to 1 September. Then this procedure will resume, but only in Moscow. After that, the Russians will have three months to wait for the call for an interview at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow for a tourist visa. These measures are explained by the decision of Russian authorities to reduce the number of employees of the diplomatic mission of the United States in the country.

Earlier, Moscow has ordered to reduce the U.S. diplomatic mission in Russia to 755 to 455 employees.
