The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on the message of former U.S. President Barack Obama on Twitter with a quote by South African statesman Nelson Mandela said ironically, what’s next in social media Obama should appear quotes about Mandela the former leader of Libya Muammar Gaddafi.

“Hypocrisy as it is. After the riots in Charlottesville, which arose on the basis of race, Obama has tweeted a quote the sayings of Nelson Mandela on the topic of racism. Tweets were the most popular in the history of this social network. Great initiative, though belated”, — Zakharov wrote on his page in Facebook.

In the message of the representative of the Russian depodesta cited several quotes of Nelson Mandela on Muammar Gaddafi, who, in her words, “without fail should appear in the Twitter Obama.”

“No country can claim to be the policeman of the world and no state can dictate to another what he should do. Those who yesterday was a friend of our enemies, today have the audacity to tell me not to visit my brother Gaddafi. They advise us to be ungrateful and to forget our old friends,” reads one of the statements of Mandela, given Zakharova.

Earlier it became known that the message of the ex-US President Barack Obama, devoted to what is happening in Charlottesville, became the most popular in the history of Twitter. It contained fragments of a speech of Nelson Mandela.

The result of the NATO operation in Libya that began in March 2011, the official government of the country under the leadership of Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown with the participation of the United States.
