USA declared intention to leave Syria after the victory over the IG

The United States does not plan to stay in Syria after the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia) will be defeated. This was during the briefing said state Department spokesman Heather Nauert, available on the Agency’s website.

“It’s not in our plans,” she replied to a journalist’s question about US intentions to stay in the middle East and after defeating terrorists.

“The main purpose [of the coalition headed by the USA] was to return Raqqa,” — said Nauert, noting that this problem is resolved. “Whether it’s Iraq or Syria, this is exactly what we want to defeat ISIS, and nothing more,” she added, explaining that, according to the United States, Syria should govern the Syrians.

The assault on Raqqa, the so-called informal capital of ISIS, comes with June. The liberation of the city is one of the main goals of the international antiterrorist coalition headed by USA.

Since 2011 in Syria’s civil war, which strengthened the terrorist organization, including the “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia). The international coalition led by the United States in 2014 is conducting in Syria operation against ISIS.
