Municipal solid waste (MSW) “Syanovo” in the Serpukhov district of the Moscow region is in urgent need of remediation, this requires in the near future to develop an appropriate project. This was stated by a member of the regional staff of the Russian popular Front (onf), the coordinator of the project “General cleaning” in Moscow Sergey Andreev, the website of the regional government, on Thursday, August 17.
TBO “Syanovo” is under special control of the popular front in 2016. In March there were numerous fires, however, the local administration refused to deal with their elimination. Experts in the field of environmental protection warned about the high probability of recurrence of such incidents.
“It is unacceptable to leave this question without a solution because it affects the lives and health of residents of the neighboring villages. In this situation, the reclamation project is required to make the administration of the Serpukhov district, which is the owner of the land occupied by the landfill,” — said the representative of the onf.
According to Andreev, one of the most dangerous consequences of a fire at the landfill are flammable gases that arise in the process of thermal exposure of biological decomposition of waste. He noted that the regional authorities are ready to dedicate to the project of reclaiming the funds. For it is only necessary to wait for the completion of an appropriate project.
