NASA showed the broken galaxy
Space telescope Hubble took a picture of the galaxy IC 1727, which had actually been torn apart by its gravitational interaction with nearby NGC 672.
The corresponding image is published on the website of the Observatory.
Most strongly changes due to the interaction evident in the IC 1727.
The picture shows that the structure of the galaxy is distorted, and its bright – outside the center of a star system.
Another object, NGC 672, is out of the frame.
Astronomers believe that both the bursts of star formation in IC 1727 and NGC 672 was 20-30 and 450-750 million years ago. The most likely cause of this phenomenon experts call the interaction of dust clouds resulting from the collision of galaxies.
