Roman Abramovich and Daria Zhukova announced the divorce

The parents of two children decided to separate after ten years of marriage, but remain friends.

Billionaire Roman Abramovich and his wife Daria Zhukova decided to disband, said in a joint statement the couple, received by RBC.

“After 10 years of marriage we have taken the difficult decision to leave, but remain close friends, the parents of two wonderful children and partners in projects that were started and developed together,” the statement said.

Abramovich and Zhukova explained that intend to educate children (the couple have a son Aaron is seven years old and the daughter of Leah, which four years), as well as to continue work as co-founders of Museum of modern art “Garage” in Moscow and a cultural center on New Holland island in St. Petersburg.

Experts Forbes estimated Abramovich’s condition in $9.2 billion, occupies 139-th place in the ranking of the richest people in the world and 12th place in the list of Russia’s richest men.

The marriage with Darya Zhukova became a billionaire third: in the years 1987-1990 he was married to Olga Lissovoy, and in 1991-2007 year — to Irina Malandina, in which marriage was born five children. The divorce from his second wife was officially announced in March 2007, a few months after British media reported that Irina Malandina filed for divorce after appearing in the Newspapers of photographs of Russian businessman with a 23-year-old Daria Zhukova, the daughter of a Russian oil magnate Alexander Zhukov.

In January 2015, the British newspaper the Times reported a secret wedding Abramovich and Zhukova, citing an interview with the Wall Street Journal, where it was noted that the couple “met in 2005 and married a few years later.”
