Poland is ready to import American liquefied natural gas, if the price is competitive, said in an interview with RIA Novosti the head of the Polish foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski.
“We haven’t decided to import gas — sources — from the United States. A couple of months ago, we received one or two tankers with liquefied gas from the US, this was a pilot project to ascertain the technical capabilities of importing gas from the United States,” he said.
Waszczykowski called it a successful project. “But now we are simply waiting for the terms and conditions of the contract, future contract,” he added.
“We will, we want, we intend to import gas from the United States, with the proviso that the price will be competitive with one that is gas from other suppliers, such as Qatar or Russia. While gas from the US is much more expensive. However, if they offer a contract that will be able to compete with the import of gas from Qatar or other regions, we can consider it,” — said Waszczykowski.
