MOSCOW, August 4. /TASS/. Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov has called into question the inviolability of private property in Ukraine on the background of the Ukrainian savings Bank.

“This is private property, is the property of a Russian legal entity. You also need to come [from him] how now in Ukraine is inviolable private property. This is a question for the Ukrainian authorities and, perhaps, to the image of this country in the world,” he said, commenting on the assumptions of experts that the statements of the national Bank of Ukraine about the absence of buyers for the “daughter” is an attempt to nationalize the asset.

Speaking about whether the Kremlin has a special plan of action in case of attempts to nationalize the Bank, Peskov said that “the Russian side has always defended and will defend the interests of our businesses engaged in international activities.” “It is the duty of any state”, – concluded the press-Secretary of the President.

Sberbank made a decision about the sale of Ukrainian “daughter” after in March of this year the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has imposed sanctions against five Ukrainian banks with Russian capital. Under the sanctions fall Sberbank Ukraine, VTB, Prominvestbank, VS Bank (belongs to Sberbank through the European “daughter” of Sberbank Europe) and BM Bank (owned by VTB). And the Chairman of the national Bank of Ukraine Kateryna Rozhkova said that prospects of development in Ukraine, Russian banks are not, and they have to leave the market.

Sberbank is also seeking a buyer for its Ukrainian Bank VS Bank.
