Erdogan announced the signing of an agreement with Russia to supply s-400

He stated in Parliament, assuring that there is no harm from such an acquisition.

Moscow. July 25. INTERFAX.RU — Russia and Turkey signed an agreement to supply anti-aircraft missile systems s-400. This was stated on Tuesday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking in Ankara at the meeting of the parliamentary faction of the ruling “party of justice and development”, writes the Hurriyet.

“Made representations to Russia on this issue. Of the signed agreement. With God’s help, we will see the s-400 missiles in our country and we will be together to produce them,” said the President, addressing to deputies of Parliament.

“Why should it cause tension? The government needs to look for the ideal way to ensure their own security,” so Erdogan commented on the concern of the USA regarding the possible purchase by Turkey of the Russian s-400.

On 23 July the Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff US Armed forces General Joseph Dunford, speaking at a conference in the city of aspen (Colorado) answered the question about the discussion of the contract for the supply of Turkey, Russian air defense systems: “It would be a problem if they did that, but they have not yet done.”

The Kremlin, meanwhile, did not comment on Erdogan’s statement on the signing with Russia of documents on delivery of anti-aircraft missile systems s-400. “No comment,” — said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
