Imprisoned oppositionist mokhnatkin on hunger strike

Serving time for the police beating opposition leader Sergei mokhnatkin hunger strike. This was told “echo of Moscow” coordinator of the project “Tales and stories for political prisoners,” Elena Efros.

The convict was diagnosed with a fracture of the spine, and he complains about the inability to get proper medical care, and intolerable living conditions.

According to the radio, Mokhnatkin was transferred to a hospital in the city of Arkhangelsk in connection with the arrival in the colony of the Commission from Moscow.

On 20 March it was reported that Sergey Mokhnatkin got a new term for the disruption of colonies (article 321 of the criminal code), in which he was serving a sentence. “For multiple offenses — 2 years 6 months with punishment serving in a colony of strict regime”, — noted in Prosecutor’s office of the Arkhangelsk region.

Earlier in June 2016 Mohnatkina added 11 months in prison for insulting the head of the unit colonies (article 130 of the criminal code). According to the defense, the opposition chasing after the beating in March 2016, which he underwent for refusing to be transported without documents. After beating at Mokhnatkin was diagnosed with a compression fracture of the spine.

The oppositionist was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison in December 2014 for the use of violence against a representative of authorities (article 318 of the criminal code) at an unsanctioned rally in December 2013 in defense of the 31st article of the Russian Constitution, which guarantees freedom of Assembly. Mohnatkin twice struck the face of one policeman, and then stood up for his colleague.

In 2010, Mokhnatkin was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for a similar crime.
