Telephone negotiations of leaders of Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine will take place on July 24. This information was confirmed by press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov, reports on Friday, July 21, RIA Novosti.
Previously the date of telephone negotiations “channel four” called the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. “On Monday [24 July] held telephone talks in the “Normandy format”. And I will demand immediate support of the ceasefire regime along the contact line” — reports the words Poroshenko “112 Ukraine”.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced a four-party telephone conversation on 8 July, a briefing on the results of the “Big twenty” in Hamburg. On the sidelines of the summit, the leaders of three countries — Russia, France and Germany discussed the situation in Ukraine and noted the serious lags in the implementation of provisions of the Minsk agreements. The representative of Ukraine at the talks was absent, as it is a state not included in the “twenty”.
The ability to hold a phone conversation was also discussed at the end of June, however, the consultations did not take place.
The last meeting of the leaders of the four countries was held in October last year in Berlin. Prior to that, the negotiations in this format took place in October of 2015 in Paris.
The armed conflict in the South-East of Ukraine lasts from spring 2014. In February 2015 in Minsk leaders “channel four” agreed on a document providing, in particular, the introduction in the Donbass cease-fire, withdrawal of heavy weapons, a legislative recognition of the special status of the region.
