In Russia imposed a ban on VPN and Tor

The state Duma on 21 July adopted in the third final reading a bill prohibiting funds bypass the Internet lock. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to RBC, the amendments to the law “About protection of information” has approved the MP 373, two voted against and two abstained.

The first reading of the initiative was held on 23 June and the second on July 19. The law will come into force on 1 November 2017. The amendments were introduced by a group of deputies from fractions “United Russia” “Fair Russia” and the Communist party.

In the document there is a speech about anonymizers and VPN services. The law will apply to all proxy and VPN services and the Tor network, I2P and Freenet.

If the VPN will refuse to block access to prohibited in Russia information, they themselves are waiting for the lock. Also, the amendment implies that the Roskomnadzor will have the right to block sites with information about the means of bypassing locks.

The document also obliges the operators of search engines to cease issuing on the territory of Russia links to information resources that are included in the black list.
