The CIA intends in August to begin the destruction of old records related to leaks of classified information, “if the critics are going to convince the national archives to thwart the plan,” the newspaper writes.
It is reported that the archive had previously approved the proposal to destroy certain types of records 30 years after their creation. Destruction to be associated with leaking files, medical records, information about access to the materials, personal files, in the interests of counterintelligence, reports, compensation, files declassify and address and reference files.
Now associated with leaking files must be stored permanently, but according to the suggestion of the CIA, they can destroy 30 years after closure.
