The average amount of bribes to Metropolitan police officers revealed episodes of corruption amounted to 614 thousand rubles for the first six months of 2017. This figure was announced at the Board meeting of the MIA in Moscow, the head of Oleg Baranov, reports on Tuesday, July 18, RIA Novosti.
According to him, the success rate of such crimes rose 22 percent.
According to 2016, the average amount of a bribe in Russia amounted to about 200 thousand rubles. These data led the head of the Main Directorate for economic security and combating corruption of the interior Ministry Andrew Kurnosenko. By the end of 2015, the average amount of bribe was 188 thousand rubles.
In June 2017 the state Duma Committee for security and combating corruption prepared amendments to the criminal code increasing the penalties for giving and accepting bribes. The term of imprisonment for such an offence it is proposed to increase to four years. In addition, the criminal code can be extended to arbitrators in the case of the abuse of power they can get up to three years of imprisonment.
