The strategic unmanned aerial vehicle U.S. air force RQ-4A Global Hawk with the call sign UAVGH000 Sunday, July 16, made the hours-long reconnaissance mission along the demarcation line in the Donbass. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to Western sites that track flights of military aircraft.
The machine took off from Sigonella airbase in Sicily. He entered the air space of Ukraine on the Nikolaev area and headed in the direction of Mariupol. After the assignment in the Donbass, he left the Ukrainian airspace to the North of Moldova.
The UAV, flying at a height of 16.7 kilometers, the clock ran from North to South along the boundary line with Ukraine self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics, without crossing it.
Taking into account the possibilities of reconnaissance to a depth of 300 kilometers, the UAV can monitor the whole territory of the DNI and LC, as well as the border regions of Russia. According to open sources, the apparatus RQ-4A Global Hawk can patrol for over 30 hours, being at a height of 15-18 km.
The armed conflict in the Donbas began in the spring of 2014 after Kiev began a military operation on suppression of protests in Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The protests followed the change of government in the country.
