Embassy of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia posted on the official website warning about the need to respect the Russian tourists in the Republic of caution.
“In connection with deterioration of a criminogenic situation in Abkhazia Embassy of the Russian Federation recommends to visit the country Russian tourists to exercise extreme caution and vigilance, avoid deserted and isolated places, to refrain from conflicts with the local population, not to leave unattended minor children and personal belongings”, – stated in the message.
“We have placed on the website of the Embassy of the Russian warning to vacationers, and that’s all I can do at this stage. At later stages, if this dangerous trend continues, the Russian side will consider further steps”, – commented the Ambassador Semyon Grigoryev.
The diplomat expressed indignation in connection with the armed assault on the Russian tourists in the Gudauta district and killing one of them – 33-summer Andrey Kabanov. “I, as the Ambassador and all the Embassy are outraged by the incident, – the diplomat told journalists in Sukhum. – The security of the Russian tourists is a priority of the leadership of Abkhazia, and in this regard, I expect that law enforcement agencies will promptly provide the search, detention and punishment of those responsible”.
