Norway has proposed to distribute contraceptives to adolescents under 16 years of age

A number of Norwegian youth associations and sections of the political parties took the initiative to distribute free contraceptives according to the recipes of teenagers up to 16 years. About it reports The Local.

From 2016 to contraceptives by the state are eligible young people aged 16 to 20 years. Now activists propose to extend this practice to younger compatriots.

“This only applies to a small group of teenagers, but if it helps 15-year-old girl to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, we believe that it is positive and good,” said one of the leaders of the “Sex and society” Thor Holt Follestad (Tor Holte Follestad).

“Reducing the age limit of the program participants will discuss [with Teens] protection from sexually transmitted diseases, and to identify potential undesirable or abusive relationships,” — said in a joint statement, several youth organizations.

The Ministry of health of the Kingdom declared that it would study the initiative.

Earlier, on 11 July it was reported that, according to the charitable organization Save the Children (save the children), the world each year from complications during pregnancy and childbirth die 30 thousand adolescent girls aged 15 to 19 years.
