Fedotov asked to deal with the sentence the convict for robbery disabled

MOSCOW, 11 Dec — RIA Novosti. The head of the presidential Council on human rights (HRC) Mikhail Fedotov sent a request to the Prosecutor of Moscow with the request to verify the legitimacy of initiation of criminal proceedings against a disabled person in a wheelchair Anton Mamayev, who was sentenced to 4.5 years under article “robbery”, told RIA Novosti on Tuesday a member of the Moscow public oversight Commission (POC) eve Markachev.

The press service of the Prosecutor’s office announced that the Agency will check the grounds for challenge of the verdict on behalf of the Prosecutor General.

According to media reports, 28-year-old Anton Mamayev, who is completely atrophied all the muscles, on 30 June, the court convicted of armed robbery in the case of the theft of the scooter, and has appointed to it punishment in the form of 4,5 years of a colony; after the verdict he was sent to the “Matrosskaya Tishina”.

“At the moment Anton already night without any help as his cellmate, who was taking care of him transferred from the detention facility. However, he is completely untenable: can not move independently, to provide any assistance. He is currently awaiting transfer to the hospital, because in jail there are no specialists that can take care of him”, — told RIA Novosti Markachev.
