In the port of Odessa on Sunday, 9 July, came two Turkish warships and a submarine. About it reports the edition “Duma”.
As noted, called at the port frigate Turgutreis F241, a large landing ship NL 214 and submarine. They will take part in the Ukrainian-American exercises Sea Breeze-2017, which will be held from 10 to 23 July in the Black sea coast of Ukraine. The exercise will involve military personnel from 17 States.
Also the edition notes that on 8 July at the Odessa airport landed two military aircraft of the countries-NATO members – the American C-130 Hercules with a dozen divers on Board and the Hungarian C-17A Globemaster III, which was delivered to the city a few dozen soldiers and equipment for exercises.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on the admission to the territory of Ukraine of foreign military in 2017 in January. The normative act has allowed NATO troops to participate in the Ukrainian-American maneuvers Sea Breeze and Rapid Trident 2017-2017. The laws of Ukraine prohibits the presence of foreign military without permission of Parliament.
Ukraine’s armed forces regularly conduct joint exercises with the armies of NATO countries. In February of 2016 who was then the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the integration of the country’s army in the Alliance will be completed in 2016.
In December 2015 the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called the EU and NATO the main goal of Kiev. According to him, the majority of the population supported the Euro-Atlantic integration. However, the head of state noted that the issue of joining the North Atlantic Alliance in the country held a referendum.
