The Kremlin said about the Russian origin of the turbines in the Crimea

Earlier media reported that on the Peninsula bypass sanctions were put turbines manufactured by Siemens.

Moscow. July 10. INTERFAX.RU Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the turbines that are installed for power plants on the territory of Crimea, made in Russia.

“In Crimea is indeed installed turbines produced in Russia, collected in Russian companies”, — said Peskov told reporters, answering the question whether supplies of these turbines in the Crimea, Siemens.

Press Secretary of the President did not comment the message that the company Siemens allegedly did not want to prevent the installation of turbines in the region.

Unnamed sources informed the Western media noted that at the stations in the Crimea was planned to install the turbine from the German company Siemens, but it is in the case of delivery of equipment at risk to violate the sanctions of the European Union, which does not recognize the Russian status of Crimea. Siemens denied the plan for delivery of their turbines on the Peninsula.

On 5 July the media reported that the turbines manufactured by Siemens were shipped to Crimea. A company spokesman in Munich said that the company did not put turbines in the Crimea, and “complies with all restrictions of export control”. As reported, two turbine model SGT5−2000E was unloaded in the port of Sevastopol.

The Russian company Technopromexport, which builds stations in the Crimea, July 6 issued a statement that he had purchased four sets of gas turbines for the Crimean power plants on the secondary market. However, she has upgraded these units at Russian factories using engineering companies from the Russian Federation. However, we are serious about this unconfirmed information and has established a special working group on this issue, which embarked on a thorough analysis and clarification of the actual situation”, — stated in the message Siemens.

As explained in the company, in that case, if you recently purchased the turbines were forwarded to the Crimea, it will be a clear breach of contract. “Siemens has repeatedly warned the customer that the company strictly complies with all restrictions of export control. Siemens has taken all possible legal action and taking action operational oversight in order to prevent misuse of the equipment. So, the company will not supply components or provide services for installation, commissioning or warranty service. We will continue to work closely with all interested parties”, — noted in the company.
