Shuvalov holds a meeting in Tokyo with the foreign Minister of Japan

First Vice-Premier of Russia Igor Shuvalov and foreign Minister Fumio Kishida met Friday in Tokyo as co-chairs of the intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic issues.

“We do the order of our leaders to lift economic and political issues that we have, to a meeting of leaders in September at the Eastern economic forum was fruitful”, — said at the opening of the meeting Shuvalov.

However, he expressed the hope that the holding in Ekaterinburg the exhibition “Innoprom-2017” with the participation of about 170 companies from Japan “Russian-Japanese joint success.”

For its part, Fumio Kishida told Shuvalov that the Japanese side “gradually and carefully promotes the process of training specific to the WEF decision,” and expressed hope for a fruitful discussion to achieve a common understanding of both parties in different areas.

According to Kishida, thanks to the frequent meetings of the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Russian President Vladimir Putin relations between the two countries “are developing in a positive direction.”

First Vice-Premier of Russia Igor Shuvalov is in Japan on a visit, during which he informed on Friday held a meeting with the Minister of economy, trade and industry Hiroshige Seko.

The sides discussed preparations for a meeting of leaders of the two countries in September in Vladivostok in the framework of the WEF. In the evening Shuvalov will take part in the opening ceremony of the Festival of Russian culture in Japan.
