MOSCOW, 7 Feb — RIA Novosti. Ten years of “democratic approach” to the issue of headship in the family was replaced by “authoritarian”, almost two thirds of Russians say that in their family, democracy prevails and all significant issues are addressed jointly, showed the poll on the eve of the Day of family, love and fidelity.

In 2005, 38% of Russians saw the head of the family the eldest male or female, while 35% said that all important issues should be solved jointly in the course of discussions, now the adherents of the second position was almost twice as much (60%), while, in contrast, considerably fewer (20%).

62% of family of citizens (married or living together without registration) say that their family is not the sole leader, decision maker. However, men’s position is still strong: 29% recognize the fact that the main in their family — husband (among men — 34%), the wife called only 7% (among women — 12%)

Almost all family respondents (96%) satisfied with the relationship with her husband, including 80% said relationships are satisfied with them completely.

Almost all happy and the decision-making process in the family (96%), disposal of household budget (95%), sharing of family responsibilities (94%). In last place was the material situation, but this aspect of family life satisfactorily is estimated more than half of respondents (54%).

“Family life is generally happy with the vast majority (94%), however, the proportion of unequivocally positive ratings 69%, while 25% answered “rather satisfied,” said the sociologists.

To support families in difficult situations, feel more than three quarters (78%) of respondents, however, of these, 12% would like to receive more support from relatives. But the estimate of 15% of the respondents, the more they themselves serve as a support for the family, rather than receive support.

Research Director VTSIOM Elena Mikhailova noted that the dynamics of indicators of public opinion govorit positive changes in the sphere of family relations.

“Russians are more likely to report that they are fully satisfied with certain aspects of family life. Russian families successfully adapt to modern conditions, the roles within families in accordance with individual characteristics and the objective circumstances, rather than trying to meet the expectations of the external environment, making family life more harmonious and happy,” — said the expert.

A nationwide survey “polls-Sputnik” was held 1-3 июля2017 year, including 1.8 thousand respondents aged from 18 years. Survey method — telephone interviews, the statistical error does not exceed 2.5%.
