MOSCOW, 7 July. /TASS/. The American administration should return to Russia the building of the diplomatic missions located in the territory of the United States, no exchanges and trading for this reason can not be. On Friday on his page in Facebook wrote the head of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.
As recalled by the MP, three U.S. senators appealed to President Donald Trump not to return Russian diplomatic property, which the Obama administration decided to confiscate in 2016. It is the diplomatic buildings in new York and Maryland, which were taken from the Russian Embassy in December 2016 as sanctions over alleged Russian interference in the elections of the President of the United States.
“The building needs to be repaid, and the sooner the better. No “games”, “trading”, “exchanges”, pre-conditions on the subject will not and can not be”, – said Kosachev. In his opinion, the mere letter of the senators is “a scandal, as representatives of the Supreme legislative authority of the country, proud of its commitment to the right, openly calling for the President to direct and flagrant violation of international norms”.
“I don’t know how to save world democracy hold hostage departmenet, whose status is protected by international conventions, but the fact that it causes enormous damage to the reputation of the US as the responsible party to these conventions, it is absolutely obvious,” he added.
