United States ignored the appeal of Russia and China to end exercises near the DPRK

The United States will continue the practice of military exercises with allies in the Korean Peninsula, despite the call by Russia and China to refrain from such actions. About it journalists were reported by the official representative of the U.S. Department of defense Jeff Davis, reports RIA Novosti.

“No, I’m not,” said Davis, responding to a question about possible changes in the format of joint exercises.

July 4, Russia and China in the joint statement of the ministries of foreign Affairs has invited the DPRK to declare a moratorium on nuclear tests and missile launches, and South Korea and the United States to refrain from conducting large-scale military exercises. In addition, the authors of the statement urged the international community to support the above initiative, opening the real path to resolving the problems of the Korean Peninsula.

The same day Pyongyang reported the successful test of a new Intercontinental ballistic missile.

5 July, at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council by the US permanent representative Nikki Haley said that Washington is ready to use military force against North Korea, but “would prefer not to go in this direction”, and include additional measures, such as trade and economic restrictions.
