The President of the European Commission (EC) Jean-Claude Juncker has criticized the European Parliament for their attitude to work. On Tuesday, July 4, reports The Independent.

On this day Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat has failed in Strasbourg, the presidency of the EU. The hall was attended by about 30 of 751 deputies.

Juncker noted that MEPs actually showed disregard for Malta.

“If Mr Muscat would be Mrs Merkel that hard to imagine or Mr. Macron, it is easier to imagine, we have here would be a full house. The Parliament is totally anecdotal,” said Juncker.

Remark of the Chairman of the EC provoked a strong response from the speaker of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani. “You may criticize the Parliament, but note that it is not the European Commission monitors the European Parliament, but quite the contrary,” retorted the politician to the applause of the deputies.

Juncker, in turn, said that to monitor the EC no one, because in the hall only a few deputies, reports BBC News.

As notes the edition, the population of Malta is about 400 thousand people. Juncker himself was born in the dwarf Duchy of Luxembourg, whose population exceeds 570 thousand people.
