The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Ukraine should “clean its own house” before proposing to deprive Russia the right of veto in the UN security Council. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the proposal in the security Council was made by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin. He has had open debates on the issue of conflicts in Europe. The diplomat called the permanent membership of Russia in the security Council as a “fundamental problem” and accused Moscow of abuse of the right of veto, as well as in fuelling conflict in Europe.

In response to the words klimkina Zakharova said that “you should first bring order at home, everything is to establish, and then to undertake for the improvement of the international mechanisms.”

The representative of the Russian foreign Ministry noted that “while international mechanisms without Mr. Klimkin and work so well.” Zakharov stressed that when Ukraine “will be solved the problems which are now forced to deal with the international community, then his opinion can be heard on other issues”.

The veto power gives the ability to block any resolution in the UN security Council. Now this right is granted to all five permanent members — Russia, USA, China, France and Britain.
