The statement of the President of the United States Donald trump about the need to “return the Crimea” Ukraine due to the pressure on the American leader. This opinion was expressed by the head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Leonid Kalashnikov. His words RIA Novosti reported.
“This means that the pressure that he is, makes itself felt. Apparently, he doesn’t stand up. Of course, this is at odds with his promises, including to consider the recognition of the Crimea. But you see, it’s not always all coincides with what he is doing then,” said Kalashnikov.
February 14, press Secretary of the White house Sean Spicer said that Donald trump hopes that Moscow will begin the process to de-escalate the conflict in Ukraine will return control of the Kiev authorities of Crimea. Also the representative of the head of state noted that the President of the United States counts on good relations with Russia.
During his election campaign, Donald trump has repeatedly stated that in case of victory in the presidential election will consider recognition of Crimea as Russian territory.
Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 following a referendum.
