“There is no dispute”: the Kremlin has commented on the death of the Turkish military

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that Russian planes bombed the coordinates, transmitted by Turkey, and there wasn’t supposed to be the Turkish military. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

A Kremlin spokesman stressed that the situation is clear to both parties, the conflict over the incident arose. Also Peskov said that the parties need to improve the mechanism of information exchange during joint operations.

Peskov said that the presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the unintended impact in a constructive way.

On a question of journalists, whether the incident is a mistake of the Turkish intelligence, Peskov said that this “was an inconsistency in the provision of coordinates”.

The ninth of February as a result of erroneous airstrike killed three Turkish soldiers, 11 were injured. Putin expressed condolences to Erdogan in connection with the incident, and the heads of the General Staffs of Russia and Turkey have agreed on closer coordination of joint actions and exchange of information on Syria.
