Two residents of new York admitted in a criminal conspiracy, attempt to provide assistance to the banned terrorist organization “Islamic state” and the assault on American law enforcement. Writes about this TASS with reference to the press service of Prosecutor’s office of the Eastern district of new York.
“The two men also are accused of conspiracy to make new York a terrorist attack, using stuffed a bomb in a pressure cooker. Sentencing them scheduled for 16 may”, – told in Prosecutor’s office.
The suspects Munter Omar Saleh and Farid Mumuni was arrested in June 2015. Saleh was detained together with accomplices after an attack on a law enforcement officer leading a tail on them. The second the detention of a kitchen knife inflicted several blows to the FBI agent, but was involved in a bulletproof vest.
According to prosecutors, the suspects received from the ISIS militants were instructed to kill the FBI agents who conducted surveillance of the recruited Americans. Mumuni had to play the role of a suicide bomber to blow himself up with the Desk staff through the cooker with a homemade device.
It is noted that if the suspects are found guilty, they will get 53 and 85 years in prison.
