Penalty for obstructing movement of emergency vehicles proposed to increase to 60 times

In the state Duma proposed a 60-fold increase in the penalty for failure to provide road ambulances, the police, the emergencies Ministry and other emergency services. The corresponding bill on Monday, January 23, for the consideration of the lower house of the Parliament made a Deputy Andrey Palkin (EP).

The document proposes not only to penalize drivers for 30 thousand rubles, but to deprive them of their rights for a period of six months to two years if they do not give way to vehicles with “special color schemes, inscriptions and designations,” which is simultaneously included flashing beacon blue and a special sound signal.

In the explanatory note the Deputy refers to an incident that occurred in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Then the driver of the car refused to give way to the ambulance heading to a call. The patient died before arrival of doctors.

“The purpose of this bill is to prevent future such cases,” — said in a note.
