Putin has suggested to oblige the acting governors to report the income

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin submitted to the state Duma a bill about the duties of interim Governor to report assets and income. On Monday, January 23, reported on the website of the lower house of Parliament.

“Acting higher official of the subject of the Russian Federation shall submit such information within 15 days from the date of appointment. Thus the presented data on incomes received from all sources during the calendar year preceding the year of appointment, and information about property and obligations of property character as of the day of appointment”, — stated in the bill.

Information “on incomes, on property and obligations of property character” should be placed in the Internet on the official websites of state bodies of the RF subject. In addition, they must be provided by the Russian mass media for publication at their requests, noted in the explanatory note to the document.

On 17 January the state Duma Committee on security and combating corruption recommended to reject the bill requiring high-ranking officials and MPs to declare income and property of the former spouses. The concept of “spouse” in the document it is planned to define as “a person with whom the marriage or with whom the marriage is dissolved, but marriage is saved”.

Officials and parliamentarians are obliged annually to declare information about their income, assets and major expenditures in 2013. The same requirements apply to their spouses and minor children.
