MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. The final Board of the Ministry of defence was held on Thursday in Moscow with participation of the head of state Vladimir Putin. There were a few main themes, including the intensification of NATO military forces near Russia’s borders and the operation HQs of the Russian Federation in Syria.
NATO close to Russia
Reconnaissance aircraft of NATO countries are increasingly at the Russian border, said the Minister of defense General of the army Sergei Shoigu. The total number of such flights in 10 years has increased almost three times, and in the South-West of Russia – eight times: in 90-e years such flights was 107, in the 2000s – 298, this year 852. To prevent airspace violations in the Baltic, the Black Sea and in the Arctic, the defense Ministry was forced to 61% increase in the number of sorties of fighters.
