London has extended the program of training of the Ukrainian military until 2018
LONDON, 18 Dec. /Offset. TASS Ilya Dmitriev/. The program of training of the Ukrainian army British military personnel will be extended for another one year, until 2018. This statement was made on Sunday, the Minister of defence of the United Kingdom Michael Fallon.
“The expansion of training on the part of great Britain of the Ukrainian armed forces will send a clear signal that we support Ukraine and remains firmly committed to its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity in the face of a hostile Russia”, — said the Minister of defence.
In 2015, Fallon has reported an increase in the number of British military trainers in Ukraine to 100 people. They train Ukrainian soldiers and officers in the skills of warfare and medical care, logistics, functioning of the media and operational planning. It is planned that by March 2017 the British will be able to train five thousand Ukrainian soldiers.
In addition, the UK has put Ukraine in the amount of more than 1 million pounds ($1.25 million) of non-lethal equipment, including first aid kits and winter clothes.
