The presidents of Russia and Japan discussed the problems of the American presence in the Asia-Pacific region, the missile defense system of the United States, as well as threats from North Korea, said Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“Talk about a common security issues in the Asia-Pacific region, discussed the issues of missile defense and the foreign, primarily American presence, which, in our estimation, inadequate to the threats posed by North Korean missile and nuclear programs,” Lavrov said on air of channel Life.
According to him, these threats, Americans put forward as a pretext to increase in the region of modern weapons that Russia considers disproportionate.
“We felt that our Japanese colleagues began to better understand Russian concerns in this regard.
