A course on the development of institutions of direct democracy in Russia will continue, said Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking today with the annual Message to the Federal Assembly. Live webcast of the event leads the TV channel “Russia 24” and the website Вести.Ru.
Starting his speech, the President noted that the focus in his address is going to be given to the economy, social issues and domestic policy.
“We have to solve all these problems in complex, unusual conditions, as it happened many times in history,” he said, adding that the Russian people have repeatedly proved that they are able to defend and protect national interests, sovereignty and independence of the country.
“I believe that a course on the development of the political system of the institutions of direct democracy and increasing competitiveness of elections is absolutely justified, and we are definitely going to continue it”, — said Vladimir Putin.
