The inhabitants of the Novgorod region will choose a Governor from among five candidates

In February 2017 resign now left the head of the Novgorod region 65-year-old Sergei Mitin, who led the region’s nine and a half years. The acting Governor was appointed 37-the summer Andrey Nikitin. By the time of his appointment, he spent six years in charge of the Agency for strategic initiatives, was the initiator of holding of the Russian championship of working professions “Young professionals” Worldskills.
In the gubernatorial election candidate Nikitin has put forward the party “United Russia”. Competition for him will be four of us: politician Olga Efimova from the Communist party, state Duma Deputy Anton Morozov from LDPR, the businessman Mikhail Panov from “Fair Russia” military pensioner Nikolay Zaharov from “Patriots of Russia”.

Experts consider the change of power in the Novgorod region as a request for a change of generations in management and implementation of new ideas.
