The diplomat said that Russia calls for full respect for the resolutions of the UN Security Council, and Pyongyang should return to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, compliance with the rules of the IAEA and to accede to the Convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons.
At the same time, he said, “members of the security Council must seek a peaceful, diplomatic and political solution to the problems of the Korean Peninsula. The security Council must seek to reduce tensions in the region, there is no other way,” — said Nebenzia.
“A military solution to the problems of the Korean Peninsula is not, and in the resolutions of the security Council should emphasize this. It is also necessary to exclude additional unilateral sanctions against North Korea in addition to those already imposed by the UN Security Council,” — said Nebenzia.
